Coast V2 - Compact Dual Boiler from Portugal The Arkel Coast version 2 is a full-size dual boiler espresso machine built for the serious home barista who refuses to compromise. With a 100% stainless steel construction, PID temperature control across both boilers and hands-on flow profiling via a needle valve, the Coast is designed to give you complete control over every shot you pull. Its generously sized 1.0L steam boiler makes it particularly well suited to households that drink a lot of milk-based coffees.  This is a machine that's built to be the centerpiece of a dedicated home coffee station, and it looks and feels the part. The Coast brings a traditional prosumer aesthetic to any kitchen, and with a self-descaling cycle you can run yourself at home, it's designed to be as easy to maintain as it is to enjoy. For a more detailed review of the Arkel Coast dual boiler espresso machine and comparison against the Arkel Tide, visit our blog post. What is the difference between the Arkel Coast V1 and V2? The Arkel Coast V1 was introduced at the beginning of 2025 and had a flow-profiling system that was controlled by a ball valve. Shortly after, the Coast received an upgrade and became known as the V2. The Coast V2 features a needle valve developed by Arkel themselves. This system operates through a bypass system that ensures smooth and progressive increases or decreases in both flow and pressure. The V2 also features a stainless steel connection between the steam boiler and the steam wand, as well as the option to drain the steam boiler using the valve located at the bottom of the machine. These are the upgrades that define the Arkel Coast V2. In-Tank Filters If you are purchasing the Arkel Coast espresso machine, we recommend including the Brita AquaAroma Crema water filter cartridge (this is the exact filter for the Coast). This filter is designed specifically for espresso machines, it is essential for protecting your machine against limescale buildup. These filters also help to condition the water, which reduces the level of substances that impair the taste of your espresso. We would recommend that all of our customers purchase water filters with their espresso machines, as failure to do so can cause issues with your machine early on. Water filters should be changed in accordance with their manual.
